Additional Programs to the 2013 Fes Sacred Music Festival, 19th edition

Once the festival is over we invite you to dig dipper and discover more of Morocco. We offer itineraries varying from a night in the Moroccan Desert to the Andalousia of Spain.

Great South and Kasbahs Extension

Traveling in Morocco generates a grand feast for the senses. Noticeably, the South and the North have little to share, as if they were two separate countries. The vastness of the Sahara, its plateaus bordered by mirages, or waddies punctuated by sandcastle-like Kasbahs, and romantic oases all in all sheltered by azure-blue African skies seem surreal.

Man and Traditions Extension

Our expeditions / retreats are a marvelous way to discover the beauty and mystic of the Sahara desert. We travel in a slow pace with the rhythm of nature, almost in silence. You can walk holding the harness of your camel if you wish, or ride it when you feel tired. The camel caravan, conducted by a professional chief and his assistants transporting your tents and all your necessities for the journey, will progress four to five hours a day.

Legendary Andalucia Extension

Andalucia is the southernmost territory of Spain; and the part of the Iberian Peninsula. The popular image of Spain as a land of bullfights, flamenco, sherry and ruined castles is originated in this spectacularly beautiful region. The influences that have washed over Andalucia since the first paintings were etched on cave walls, more than twenty five thousand years ago, are many - The Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Greeks, Romans, Visigoths and the Vandals. And the most influencial conquerors of all, the Moors, who ruled the region for seven centuries and named it Al-Andalus, have left enduring imprints on Andalucian culture and customs. Delve into the Andalucian richness as we explore the cities of Sevilla, Cordoba, Grenada, Malaga and Cadiz.
